Chiropractic Relief Care
Goal: PAIN FREE
The main goal of relief care is to diminish your symptoms. During relief care, procedures and therapies are designed to relieve the symptoms and discomfort you are feeling. During this phase of care, we will provide chiropractic care and physical therapy all targeted to relief of symptoms. This phase of care will require multiple visits per week. The frequency in the visits helps the body learn to accept these changes in small increments. As you progress, you can expect to be feeling less symptoms, an increase in range of motion, and also begin to return to daily activities.
Your progress will be measured periodically throughout the treatment process. Once Dr. Lee and you have determined that the pain goals have been met, the time frame between visits will be lengthened and patients will move to the corrective care phase. Remember - the goal of relief care is just to provide relief from the pain and discomfort. Patients must continue to corrective care to address the condition that was causing the pain.
Be careful not to fall victim to the common misconception which is, if you feel no pain, there is nothing wrong. Pain is actually a warning sign of a more serious issue. For example, do you notice a tooth cavity in the early stages? How about heart disease? Pain is the last thing to appear regardless of whether you are talking about cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stress, or problems with the spine. Fortunately, pain is also the first symptom to disappear, even though much of the underlying condition remains.
